Confirmation Materials
Review Confirmation Materials
View confirmation materials checklists by term and program.
Once you are offered admission to an SIT Study Abroad program, you must complete the majority of your confirmation materials within two weeks of receiving email notification of an admission offer to guarantee your place in your selected program. Materials can be submitted through the admissions portal or returned to SIT via email or post.
Your program has a specific set of confirmation materials that you must complete and return to SIT to confirm your offer of admissions. These include:
- Identification and travel documents
- A signed Statement of Responsibility
- Personal health history form
- Housing information (varies by program)
- Program-related documents (varies by program)
Depending on the billing relationship between SIT and your home college or university, a $400, $1,000, or $2,500 deposit (depending on the program) may also be required to confirm your space. Payment can be made in the admissions portal or directly to the SIT Student Accounts Office. Beyond the confirmation materials to hold your place, you may also be required to submit supplemental health forms to our Office of Student Health if requested. You may also be required to submit financial aid materials to our Office of Student Accounts based on your school’s billing agreement or if you are transferring federal or institutional aid to cover billed SIT program costs.
Please Note: It is vital that you have a passport valid for at least six months after the end of your SIT program. If you have not yet applied for a passport, or if your passport will expire before this time, you must apply for one at once. For U.S. passport-holders, it normally takes four to six weeks to receive a new passport. Therefore, you may need to expedite your passport application (which will take three weeks). Please check with the SIT Study Abroad Admissions Office at [email protected] or 888-272-7881 to find out if it is necessary to expedite your application. Consult U.S. State Department information on How to Apply for a Passport.
