Soloniaina Rafaramanana, PhD Candidate
Soloniaina Rafaramanana is a PhD candidate of anthropology and a lecturer and researcher at the Facultés des Lettres et des Sciences Humaines, Département des Lettres et Langues Malgache, at the University of Antananarivo. She lectures on the historical evolution of traditional medicine among the Merina people.
Tamby Andrianjafiarinoa, MD, PhD Candidate
Dr. Tamby Andrianjafiarinoa holds a doctor of medicine from the University of Antananarivo and is currently a PhD candidate in pharmacology at the university. She is a senior staff member at the Bureau Municipale d’Hygiène, Commune Urbaine d’Antananarivo, Antananarivo, and lectures on poverty and its relation to healthcare.
Zafy
Zafy is a traditional healer who specializes in the treatment of jaundice. During the rural homestay period, Zafy teaches the use of medicinal plants for the treatment and prevention of diseases.
Jeannette Raivo
Jeannette Raivo is a traditional healer and a reninjaza (traditional birth attendant). A native of Andasibe, she is known for her use of medicinal plants in the prevention and treatment of diseases, as well as her involvement in maternal health issues in the Andasibe-Moramanga commune. She lectures on the use of medicinal plants in traditional medicine.
