Olivier Pouillon, Lecturer
Olivier Pouillon was an SIT Bali student in 1991. His Independent Study Project was on Bali’s public transportation system. Olivier worked for the Wisnu Foundation, Bali’s first locally established Indonesian environmental organization, from 1994 to 1998. He established the first professional waste management system on the island, PT Jimbaran Lestari, and Bali Recycling, the first fully licensed waste management, recycling, and hazardous waste processing facility in Bali. Olivier is married to an Indonesian woman and has two children.
I Wayan Dibia, Lecturer
Prof. Dibia, born in Singapadu, Gianyar, is a distinguished artist, choreographer, and scholar of Balinese performing arts. Trained from childhood in a family of artists, he studied at Indonesia’s Conservatory of Karawitan and Dance Academies in Denpasar and Yogyakarta. In 1982, he received a grant from the Asian Cultural Council to pursue an MA in Dance at UCLA, followed by a Fulbright-Hays scholarship in 1987 to complete his PhD in Southeast Asian Performing Arts at the same institution. He served as Director of STSI (now ISI) Denpasar from 1997 to 2002. A prolific choreographer, he has created new dance-drama works for contemporary audiences, toured globally, and co-founded the GEOKS performing-arts space in his home village. His scholarship includes books and articles on Balinese arts, and he has lectured internationally
Mukhtasar Syamsuddin, PhD, Lecturer
Dr. Mukhtasar Syamsuddin is a senior faculty member at the Faculty of Philosophy, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM). He holds a PhD in arts and has long contributed to the advancement of philosophical scholarship in Indonesia. His academic interests span ethics, aesthetics, cultural philosophy, and the intersections of philosophy with Indonesian social thought. At UGM, he has supervised graduate research, contributed to curriculum development, and mentored generations of students in critical and reflective inquiry. Dr.Mukhtasar is recognized for his commitment to making philosophy accessible and relevant to broader societal issues, particularly in relation to culture, education, and public discourse. He has participated in conferences across Southeast Asia, published essays in both Indonesian and English, and is known for fostering dialogues that bridge classical philosophical traditions with contemporary challenges. His work underscores the enduring role of philosophy in shaping inclusive and reflective societies.
Achmad Munjid, PhD, Lecturer
Dr. Achmad Munjid teaches in the Department of Inter-Cultural Studies, Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Gadjah Mada University. He earned his MA in 2008 and PhD in 2014 in Religious Studies from Temple University, supported by Fulbright, Henry‑Luce Foundation, and others. His research specializes in Muslim-Christian relations, freedom of religion, religious pluralism and tolerance, secularization, religious fundamentalism, religion and violence, and trauma and memory. He also teaches at UGM’s Center for Religious and Cross-Cultural Studies (CRCS) and leads the Center for Security and Peace Studies (CSPS). Additionally, he serves as NU’s vice-chair for international networks and is a committee member for NU’s R20 summit to be held in Bali
Evi Eliyanah, PhD, Lecturer
Dr. Evi Eliyanah directs the International Office at Universitas Negeri Malang and lectures in English Studies. She holds a PhD from the Australian National University. Her research focuses on gender, media, and education in contemporary Indonesia—especially representations of masculinities, gender equity in education, and intersections with national identity. She coordinates international partnerships and capacity-building initiatives across Southeast Asia, bridging academic research with policy outreach.
Ir. Anak Agung Gde Raka Dalem, PhD, Lecturer
With a PhD (Tourism), Ir. (Food Tech. & Nutrition), M.Sc.(Hons) (Env. Sciences), Dr. Ir. Anak Agung Gde Raka Dalem is a lecturer at Udayana University Bali and vice chairperson of the Tourism Village Forum of Bali province, Indonesia. He is also the coordinator of international programs for Upskill Study Programs and a researcher at the Centre of Excellence in Tourism at Udayana University, Bali.
I Gusti Putu Bagus Sasrawan Mananda, PhD, Lecturer
Dr. Gus Mananda teaches at the Faculty of Tourism, Udayana University. He holds a BA and MA in Tourism Studies—and pursued advanced training in English at the University of Michigan, USA, and in Hospitality & Tourism Management at Auckland University of Technology, New Zealand. He worked in hospitality at five-star hotels including The Ritz-Carlton Bali, COMO Shambhala Estate, Harris Kuta, and The Mansion Resort before founding Sumanda Tour & Travel and Bagus Plus Villa Management Service. His areas of teaching and research include feasibility studies in tourism, MICE (meetings, incentives, conventions, exhibitions), ground handling, guiding, and tourism entrepreneurship. Active in professional bodies like SIPCO (Society of Indonesian Professional Convention Organizers) and HPI (Himpunan Pramuwisata Indonesia), he has served as Head of the Travel Industry Program, Vice Dean of the Faculty, and now leads Udayana’s Entrepreneur and Career Development Center—where he promotes student entrepreneurship, job fairs, and tracer studies.
