Student Affairs Coordinator, Undergraduate Study Abroad
Melissa Trainor has a bachelor’s in international relations with a concentration in Islam and the Middle East and a minor in French from the State University of New Paltz. She has a master’s in social work from Temple University and has been practicing in the social work and public health fields over the last 10 years, focusing on drug and alcohol prevention, cancer services, child welfare, mental health, and parenting programs. She served twice in the Peace Corps, beginning in Burkina Faso, West Africa, where she taught English from 2001 to 2003 and again in Peace Corps Response, Guyana, South America, where she trained all the infield social workers at the Guyana Child Care Protection Agency from 2012 to 2013. Melissa enjoys traveling, cooking, collaborating, resolving problems proactively, creating effective trainings and policies, and spending time outdoors.
