Joyce is the admissions counselor for the IHP: Human Rights program, as well as the European programs in Switzerland, Netherlands, Iceland, Czech Republic, and the Balkans.
Joyce is from the island nation of Singapore, is effectively bilingual in English and Mandarin, and has studied Japanese and Spanish. She has travelled extensively to about twenty different countries, and has been an international student in three of these countries. As such, she is very passionate about intercultural communication and culture shock/reverse culture shock adjustment programming for study abroad programs. Joyce completed her BA at the University of Adelaide in South Australia, focusing on Linguistics and Japanese. During that time, she spent a year studying abroad in Tokyo, Japan, at Waseda University’s School of International Liberal Studies (SILS). She is also a graduate of SIT Graduate Institute’s MA in International Education program.
Joyce has worked as an admissions officer for SIT Graduate Institute, as well as a Senior Executive for the National University of Singapore. Joyce has also been involved in freelance translation (English to Mandarin, and vice-versa), as well as some early childhood education positions.
