SIT Study Abroad expands 2018 summer offerings with new programs and internships

JordanSchool for International Training (SIT) is accepting applications for a larger portfolio of summer 2018 study abroad programs that expands the range of internships and focus areas available to undergraduate students.

Already one of the largest providers of accredited study abroad programs in the United States, SIT Study Abroad will add six new internship programs in summer 2018, ranging from a focus on public health in Kenya to counseling and humanitarian action in Jordan. Other summer offerings will introduce new fields to SIT’s already expansive portfolio, including computer science in South Korea and water engineering in Jordan.

“These programs represent an excellent opportunity for students to make the most of their summer by examining critical global issues in Africa, Asia, Latin America, or the Middle East,” said SIT Study Abroad Vice Provost Pricilla Stone. “This new programming allows us to work at the cutting edge of trends in international education while staying true to our commitment to experiential and immersive study abroad.”

SIT introduced internships on more than two dozen semester programs in 2017 with global partners in the nonprofit, private, and government sectors. Students responded enthusiastically to the opportunity to get hands-on experience and build skills in areas including social justice, sustainability, education, human/refugee rights, responsible finance, development, public health, and the environment.
