Karin Ndzelen is an admissions counselor at SIT Study Abroad, working with programs in Africa, South of the Sahara, and the IHP Health and Community: Globalization, Culture, and Care program. Karin embodies World Learning’s values. She holds a master’s degree in sustainable development from SIT Graduate Institute, and has been a group leader with The Experiment in International Living in South Africa.
Born and raised in Cameroon, Karin speaks English, French, Lamnso (her local Language), and Pidgin English. She graduated from the University of Yaoundé in Cameroon with a bachelor’s degree in private English law. In her numerous efforts to get away from the legal world, she spent roughly eight years in the development field prior to graduate school and has had the opportunity to travel extensively around Africa, the UK, and India.
When asked about her outlook on life, Karin says, “I believe life is an experience in itself, and I gain a lot of it as I live. I am excited about what the future holds and can hardly wait to wake up in the morning to see the new day.”
