Moriah McSharry McGrath, PhD

Dr. Moriah McSharry McGrath is an instructional faculty member in the Urban Studies and Planning Department at Portland State University, where her work focuses on community development and environmental justice. She mentors students in experiential learning domestically and has also led study abroad programs in Ecuador, India, South Africa, Uganda, and Vietnam. Prior to entering academia, she worked in local government and public health research. She began her career serving as a Peace Corps volunteer in Madagascar.  She holds a PhD in Urban Studies from Portland State University; an MS in Urban Planning and an MPH in Sociomedical Sciences from Columbia University; and a bachelor’s degree in Feminist and Gender Studies from Haverford College.
